Our Next door Neighbor is Greener than ever!

Ya gotta love bipartisanship, especially when the environment wins. Like this instance of sustainable policy making:

Gov. Jon S. Corzine signed more than $140 million in open space, recreation and land preservation allocations into law last week. The package of bills includes money for several Burlington County projects. The projects are approved and funded by the state Green Acres Program, part of the Department of Environmental Protection, and the Garden State Preservation Trust. Since its inception in 1961, Green Acres has helped protect nearly 640,000 acres of open space.

Check out the link. It's a long list of cool new initiatives, each of which is an opportunity to do things a little more sustainably than before.

The Governor (a democrat) signed off on the bills put forward by republican legislators in Burlington County.
And since Cherry Hill shares a long contiguous border with Burlington County, you better believe what happens there ecologically matters for us here in Camden. More evidence of the interconnectedness we share with our neighbors.
