An interview with Tucker Max

As was recently mentioned on his blog, Tucker Max's film "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell," which opened in over 100 theaters nationwide last week, will be opening at AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 this week.

The film, in which Max has a cameo role, is based on Max's books, and is "the shocking, ridiculous and hilarious  real life adventures of Tucker Max– (it is) the story of an impromptu bachelor party gone horribly awry."

Through his books and Web site, Tucker Max has obtained popularity among a college crowd for his stories of drinking, women and often politically correct humor.

Gubernatorial debate tomorrow night

Gov. Jon Corzine, Chris Christie and Chris Daggett will debate Thursday night in their first meeting of the fall campaign. You can watch the debate live on the Courier-Post Web site.

The debate, which includes Gannett New Jersey newspapers among its cosponsors, airs live from 8 to 9:30 p.m. on the Courier-Post site, along with a live chat running concurrently.

The broadcast also will be carried by NJN, Verizon FIOS ONE and C-Span and will be streamed on NJN.net.

NJ School Of Music Faculty Concert

New Jersey School of Music Logo In support of its new Scholarship Program, the New Jersey School of Music is proud to announce its first annual Faculty Concert and Dinner to be held on Sunday October 18th, from 5:30 until 8:00 PM, at the Firehouse Café in Mount Holly, (www.thefirehousecafe.net).

The school, with campuses in Medford and Cherry Hill, supports 26 music teachers adding a great deal to the economy and culture of South Jersey.

St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church will hold its 36th consecutive Agora festival Thursday through Sunday. As usual, eating will be front and center during the get-together.

The main attraction, says festival chair George Horiates, "is definitely the food," much of it provided by local restaurants and diners.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, known for sustainable and organic ingredients purchased from local farms, will open a store Friday at the Promenade in Marlton. The chain also has a store in the Moorestown Mall and plans an opening for spring on Haddonfield Road in Cherry Hill.

Classic Cake of Cherry Hill will celebrate one year in business Oct. 9 from 4 to 7 p.m. Free food and pizza will be on hand along with a 25 percent discount in the store. Classic Cake is at Short Hills Towne Center, 480 Evesham Road.

Caffe Aldo Lamberti hosts a wine dinner featuring product from the Opus One Winery Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Dinner is 4 courses, each paired with wine. Cost is $125 per guest. For reservations, call (856) 663-1747.

An estimated 7,000 bicyclists are expected to take part in this weekend’s 29th Annual MS Bike Ride to the Shore benefiting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

For the past 20 years PATCO and the Delaware River Port Authority have hosted the start and finish of the two day ride from Cherry Hill to Ocean City, NJ, and back.

Riders leave Saturday, Oct. 3, at approximately 6:15 a.m. from the parking lot of PATCO’s Woodcrest Station in Cherry Hill and return Sunday, Oct. 4.
