Get a Grip on Your Mood Swings

For people who suffer from conditions that cause mood swings, it can be problematic.  It not only upsets their normal day-to-day functions, it also affects their social and personal relationships.  Fortunately, mood swings can be managed and if you experience them frequently, you do have ways of dealing with them.

Mood swings can be a symptom of another condition.  To deal with it properly, make sure you know exactly what causes it. You're less likely to allow your mood swings to go out of control if you understand how and why it happens.  You're more likely to know how to handle your condition if you understand what causes it than if it remains a mystery to you.

Andrea and Beck Middle School teacher, Gary Haff talk irrigation

This afternoon, a group of Cherry Hill teachers, students and parents took a trip over to Waterfront South Camden to tour the greenhouse, garden and the neighborhood around The Center for Transformation (CFT).  Representatives from Cherry Hill East High School, Beck Middle School and Woodcrest Elementary School came to Camden to learn how to start an organic garden at their schools.  The suburban kids listened intently as the city kids taught them about irrigation, heirloom seeds, growing seasons and the environmental challenges of the neighborhood. They noticed that among the abandoned homes in the neighborhood, were signs of transformation, like hand painted murals, a “poet’s walk” containing a brick from James Joyce’s Ireland home, a new community theatre and a community built outdoor bread oven.

Cherry Hill's Jeff Brown will be sitting with first lady Michelle Obama tonight at President Obama's State of the Union address. Brown, who owns 10 local ShopRite supermarkets, has been discussing with the White House ways to expand the Fresh Food Funds Initiative, which he helped found.

FFFI is a public-private partnership involving the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the Greater Philadelphia Urban Affairs Coalition, the Reinvestment Fund and the Food Trust that provides grants and loans for grocery-store development in areas where markets are needed.

"There are so many Americans who don't have access to fresh food," Brown said yesterday.
