ABC's sitcom "Scrubs," now in its ninth season, is known for spotlighting indie rock artists.

Camden Catholic High School teacher Jeff Bruckner is one of them.

The 27-year-old communications teacher and Philadelphia resident will have his song "Envy Of All Our Friends" featured on Tuesday's episode of "Scrubs."

Here's the song:

"It will be featured at the end of the episode in the background of the show," says Todd Linden, assistant to one of the show's executive producers. "I had suggested the song to the producers because it felt like the right fit. 'Scrubs' likes indie music in their episodes, and it works with this moment in the show because it's talking about dealing with life and being in love and that's kind of the basis of the montage that it plays over."

Linden and Bruckner are friends and former roommates.

ScrubsBruckner, a native of West Berlin, is a 2000 graduate of Camden Catholic High School and an alumnus of Boston University.

After graduating from college, he worked for three years in the entertainment industry in California, where he roomed with Linden.

The song "Envy of All Our Friends" is the lone acoustic piece on Bruckner's first album, "Take Me to the West Coast," which features power pop rock songs.

"I guess there's always that hope to make it onto a soundtrack," Bruckner says. "I have high hopes for it."

Linden says it was less a question of if than when the song would be featured on the show.

"I've always liked his music," Linden adds. "I kept his CD on my desk all season waiting for a moment in the show when I thought it might fit."

"I think Jeff is really talented, and he just needs the outlet for people to hear his music, and I hope this can be jump start. And if nothing else than great opportunity for people to hear his song."

"Scrubs" airs on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Bruckner's next live performance will be at 8 p.m., Jan. 22 at The Loft at The Auction House, 100 West Merchant St., Audubon.

Bruckner's music is available on iTunes. For more, visit his Web site at www.jeffbruckner.com, or his MySpace page at www.myspace.com/jeffbruckner.
