Free Health Workshop For Area Seniors To Take Place On October 15 In Cherry Hill
On Friday October 15 at 10:15 am Linda Sauerwein, RN of the New Jersey Care Transitions Project (NJCTP) will be making a fact-filled, interactive presentation called "7 Steps to Managing Your Health: A Resource Guide" at the Betty and Milton Katz Jewish Community Center of Cherry Hill. This one-hour workshop provides valuable tips and information about the key steps seniors can take to become more involved in their care.
These include: how to prepare for doctor's appointments, managing medications, and becoming more knowledgeable about diseases. The presentation also emphasizes the importance of exercise, fall prevention, and nutrition.
In addition, seniors attending will be given free Personal Health Records (PHRs). A PHR is a summary of a patient's overall health, including a comprehensive list of medications. Seniors are encourage to fill out a PHR and take it with them whenever they see a doctor, get a prescription filled, or go to the hospital.
