Pocketful of Miracles is the story of Apple Annie (Bette Davis), a poor, New York City street vendor whose daughter (Ann Margret) only knows her through letters. When Annie's daughter announces her engagemnet to the son of a Spanish Count, Annie knows she must conceal her true identity. With the help of bootlegging mobster (Glenn Ford), Annie becomes a New York socialite worthy of audience with a count.

Long lines at Loews for ‘New Moon’

Last night at AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 on Route 38, my friend and I were certainly among the minority of movie goers who were not seeing 'Twilight: New Moon.'

Here's just part of the line that we saw outside of one of the 'Twilight' auditoriums at Loews last night:

If you're planning on seeing the second installment of the 'Twilight' saga this weekend, I would suggest ordering tickets in advance and arriving early.

Store offering free tickets to advance ‘Twilight’ screening

A Cherry Hill Blockbuster store will hold a special "Twilight" celebration tomorrow -- Friday the 13th -- during which hundreds of tickets to a special advance screening of the new film will be given away.

The store at 1586 N. Kings Highway will hand out about 300 tickets during the 6 to 9 p.m. event to a screening on Nov. 19 at the AMC Loews in Cherry Hill.

Twilight cast comes to mall today

Attention all 'Twi-Hards', 'Twilighters', and 'Cullenists' - tonight is the night that the cast of 'Twilight' will come to Cherry Hill Mall.

'New Moon' cast members Charlie Bewley (Demetri) and Daniel Cudmore (Felix), will be hosting a special meet and greet session. They'll also be signing autographs for fans.

The appearance is the only one in the region and is part of the "Twilight: New Moon" saga cast tour, which visits 15 cities nationwide.Twilight

*4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Nordstrom, BP Department, Third Level - Exclusive Photo Session with 75 pre-selected fans

Documentary film criticizes N.J. education spending

Bob BowdonA new documentary detailing shortcomings of the New Jersey public education system has won acclamation at local film festivals and is getting a chance to be seen by the public.

"The Cartel," a documentary that criticizes the way the state's poorer school districts are funded and also condemns the New Jersey Schools Development Authority for wasteful spending, opens today for a weeklong run at AMC Loew's in Cherry Hill.

Sensory Friendly Film: Where the Wild Things Are | The Autism News

The next Sensory Friendly Film at AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 will be at 10 a.m. on October 17, with a screening of Where the Wild Things Are.

AMC Entertainment (AMC) & Autism Society of America bring families affected by autism and other disabilities a special opportunity to enjoy their favorite films in a safe and accepting environment on a monthly basis with the "Sensory Friendly Films" program.

An interview with Tucker Max

As was recently mentioned on his blog, Tucker Max's film "I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell," which opened in over 100 theaters nationwide last week, will be opening at AMC Loews Cherry Hill 24 this week.

The film, in which Max has a cameo role, is based on Max's books, and is "the shocking, ridiculous and hilarious  real life adventures of Tucker Max– (it is) the story of an impromptu bachelor party gone horribly awry."

Through his books and Web site, Tucker Max has obtained popularity among a college crowd for his stories of drinking, women and often politically correct humor.

Movie at the library? Yes, man!

YesManCherry Hill Public Library will host 'lunch and a movie' tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 23, from noon to 2 p.m. in the lower level conference center. Adults are welcome to attend and bring their lunch to the free screening of 'Yes Man.'

The movie 'Yes Man' follows Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) as he decides to change his life by spending one year saying 'yes' to every opportunity that comes his way, good or bad. This experiment is intended to make his life more interesting and positive and along the way he wins $45,000, meets a hypnotic dog, obtains a nursing degree, travels the globe, and finds romance.

The film, which was released in 2008, is rated PG-13, and is 83 minutes in length.
